About the Author

Krista Dunlop, author, speaker, and professional scuba diver, uses her own unique perspective of the underwater world to mind children and adults of all that the underwater world has given us … human survival, beauty and marine animal friendships!

Her vision for Underwater Odyssey is to shape and carefully nurture the young reader’s experience so that children can find order, meaning and beauty on our blue planet.  Krista’s mission for Underwater Odyssey is to partner with like- minded individuals and corporations who believe, as she does, that the future of our blue planet lies in the hands of our children.

She is presently working on the second title in the Underwater Odyssey series entitled:  The Great Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill. Krista also facilitates environmental awareness workshops for children, in addition to writing, and loves to introduce all of her adopted marine animal friends and share their individual stories with her audiences.

With Krista’s business communications company, Krista Dunlop & Associates Inc., she has researched, amongst many other topics, the evolving attitudes of non- Aboriginal Canadians towards Aboriginal issues.  Her research on this topic included a detailed final report and a communications education proposal (public) for the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples. Later she was awarded a  $30,000.00 grant by the Ontario Training Adjustment Board to develop an Aboriginal Awareness educational seminar to address those attitudes.

Krista lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and shares her adventurous life with her two shitzu dogs, Manna and Misha, and her umbrella cockatoo, Abbey, who have given her life’s most precious gifts … unconditional love and friendship.
